I bashed the guy out of the way with my HUGE booty

Late Friday night whilst enjoying a white chocolate mocha frappe, myself, Erika and Jessy planned a road trip for the next 3 days! Better planning late than never right?!

Saturday morning we set off and began our road trip with driving to The Lakota Wolf Preserve in New Jersey. We stopped off on route for breakfast at Starbucks (obviously) but then made it to the wolf preserve. We had a guided tour around the enclosures where the wolves are. I was surprised, I thought it would be huge open areas of land that you may or may not see a wolf but it was 4 big enclosures and they fed the wolves so that they came to the fences so that the visitors could see them, There were 4 enclosures with 4 packs of wolves in them. Some were grey, white and there was one black one. It was beautiful. The place is managed, funded and run by a man and his wife. The wolves are literally like their children and they really love them and care for them and the wolves love them too. The man went into one of the enclosures and the wolves were rubbing against him and he was petting them. He told us that he can be at his house 2 miles away and he can 'howl' (he has his own unique howl that the wolves know is him) and he will hear them all howling back at him to communicate. SO cute! They also had bobcats and foxes.

After this we went to Pocono Snake and Animal Park in Pennsylvania. ALL the animals here are animals that have never been in the wild. They were rescued animals or they were pets that people could no longer take proper care of. When I first walked in I was concerned because the enclosures were very, very small and some of the animals were displaying behaviours that were upsetting - the monkeys were doing tricks and ringing bells in order to get treats from us. That was pretty sad but the way the staff spoke about the animals you could tell they really cared about them. As you entered you can chose to feed 2 animals and get given the food. The choices are the monkeys, the pigs and goats or a black bear! I chose the pigs / goats and the bear. Unfortunately when we got to the black bear (Blackbeary) she was asleep and wasn't hungry so she didn't move. We fed the monkeys, the goats, pigs and raccoons. Feeding the pig was amazing. It suckled at the milk bottle and it was totally adorable. I was literally in love with this piggy.

From here we travelled to our motel (FYI it literally was called America's best value inn... we didn't have high hopes...) and walked across the road to Applebees for dinner and drinks. We stayed there for h o u r s drinking cocktails and chatting about everything and anything. We spent the night in this beyond terrible motel and heard a couple having some 'fun' in the room above when we were trying to go to sleep, so yeah, our night was pretty traumatic.

The next morning we got up, got ready and drove to Amish Country, PA. On the way we stopped by at the NJ / PA border which is marked on the ground, on a bridge. We had a laugh because there's an ongoing joke that Jessy always parks the car as far away as possible and she parked the car all the way down at the end of this road, the furthest possible place away from the bridge. The border on the bridge was actually really awesome! We took a bunch of photos and then continued to Amish country. When we arrived it was dinner time and raining. We went to our air b&b and the host, Ray, was lovely. We had our own little annex with a nice large room and bathroom. We then went to a little diner for dinner, although we all ended up having ice-cream. I had a waffle with cookies and cream, peanut butter and vanilla flavoured ice cream on top. It was so good. Driving around Amish country we were the only car!!! There were people riding horse and carts. Some were open top carts and others were closed carriages. It was soooooo bizarre to see but also amazing. I got so excited seeing them all. And they were all dressed in the long black dresses and bonnets. We drove around for a little bit and then went back to our air b&b to go to bed.

We woke up and Ray had set out a lovely continental breakfast for us. We had coffee, cereal, and freshly made pastries. YUMMY! After breakfast we explored Amish country. We passed a little farm which we went to. You could wander around and feed the animals. The donkeys were so cute! Then we went to some classic Amish shops; a quilt shop, a candle shop and also some tourist shops which had various items. It was nice to have a look around and speak to some Amish people. At one of the stores there was this adorable boxer dog wandering around. She came up to me and then wouldn't leave me alone. She was such a sweet dog, I loved her! We also saw some Amish children and mothers going past on their scooters and bikes.

After a couple of hours exploring around we started our journey home. We stopped off on the way at Camelback Mountain to do the mountain coaster and zip-line. The mountain coaster was actually decent! It went really high up to start with and when it came down it was long, had great views through the forest and mountain and went really fast! Then we did the zip-line. Oh wow, it was hilarious!!! Me and Erika went down together as there was 2 side by side. It went pretty fast and it was really fun. At the end of the zip-line there is someone to stop and grab you. Well... it didn't quite go to plan. Erika got caught, landed smoothly and it was all dandy. I came into land, bashed the guy out of the way with my huge booty (bare in mind this guy was around 18 stone) which meant he couldn't catch me, so I fell onto my arse on the deck before he panicked, ran over to me and shouted 'oh my god, are you ok?!' Hahaha. I look up and Erika had seen everything and was practically wetting herself laughing. It was hilarious. We were crying with laughter for so long after.

By this time it was late afternoon and we still had a few hours drive home so we headed home.

We had such a busy, great weekend!!!

We saw so many new things and I had such an amazing time!

I am so lucky to of made these memories with these 2 amazing girls.
