Today me and Jessy went to the Danbury War Memorial Fair and we had SO MUCH FUN!
There were all the classic fair games to play like basketball, hook a duck, throw the dart at the balloon, etc. Jessy first got attracted to the basketball game. The guy on the stall was a nice guy and we spoke to him for a while as he had served in the army and been in Germany for a whilst - which is where Jessy is from. The basketball game was a really high and far away basketball hoop - it wasn't easy! We watched several young men attempting to show off their skills to get the ball in and all of them were failing. Jessy then decided to have a go. She had 3 balls and she had to get 2 of them into the basket. She hyped herself up and I was recording and a little crowd had gathered. Anyway she threw her first one and it went in! Everybody went crazy and were cheering her on. Jessy got so excited too it was hilarious. She didn't get the next 2 in but it was all fun and exciting which is what the fair is all about.
Jessy also did this dart game where she had to pop the balloons with the darts but neither of us had any idea what was happening because the guy just kept handing Jessy darts so we assumed they were all included in the $5 she paid. Then afterwards he said she could pick any prize (they weren't even giant prizes) and then asked her for an extra $15 for all the extra darts that she threw... Yep... She got scammed! I played a mini basketball game. I had 2 balls and had to get them both in the hoop and I did it and I won a rainbow bear. Me and Jessy both won a rainbow bear so they are the Hayley and Jessy bears! I also tried this hook the bottle game but it was too hard!
We then decided to go on a couple of rides. We went on the 'surfer' ride where you all sit next to each other in 2 rows and it goes up and around. That ride was fun and Jessy didn't stop screaming which was hilarious. We also did a chair swing ride. Where you sit in the double chair and then it starts to go around and around and you also go up into the air. Yeah... that was terrifying. I didn't stop screaming the whole time!!!
As we were about to leave we saw a game where you could win a goldfish. It was $2 for 20 pingpong balls which you had to try and throw into a jar. And there were about 100 jars. One ball in a jar was a winner. Jessy tried and tried but couldn't get a ball inside the jar so the guy just gave her a fish anyway. Then I tried and I managed to get one in!!! So we both won a fish! We decided to call the fish after the 2 things that bought us both together as friends; my fish was called Ed Buck and Jessy's was called Sheeran Star. Ed Sheeran and Starbucks!
We had SUCH a fun day at the fair! The weather was also so lovely so that made the day even better! Summer is on the way!
*UPDATE*
Sheeran Star died during the night after only living for a few hours. His resting place was the garbage can.
Ed Buck lived on strong for 2 days, but on the 3rd day, he took everyone by surprise and suddenly decided to kick the bucket. His resting place was the toilet.
RIP FISHIES!
