I am celebrating my 23rd birthday IN NEW YORK CITY, IN A LIMO

More birthday celebrations, but this time, in New York City with my friends!!

On Saturday I went to New York City and met up with Selma, who is one of my friends from training school. I haven't seen her since Training School, which was back in September, so it was SO nice to see her! We went to Washington Square Park and watched the giant pillow fight. We were going to join in, but it actually looked really violent and painful, so we just decided to watch! We walked around the city for a couple of hours and then headed to our apartment where we would be staying.

How can I describe the apartment...? It was very small, the bathroom was tiny, like, you had to sit on the toilet facing sideways because there wasn't any room in front of the toilet to sit properly... It was cramped and very, very basic BUT it had beds and it was very cheap so that's all we needed!

Cheyenne, Sabrina and Sally, my friends from when I lived in Laurel, Maryland, came too which was so nice of them to make the journey. Those girls, Selma, Jessica and Linda (my friends from Ridgefield), Marie and Chiara (my friends from Training School) and my lovely best friend Erika ALL came to the apartment to eat pizza, catch up, get ready and come out with me to celebrate my 23rd birthday. I felt so grateful and blessed that so many people made such a long journey to come and celebrate my birthday with me. I was also so touched that my friends bought me presents and cards... so sweet!!!

We started the night out by getting a 2 hour limo ride around New York City. This was by far the best part of the night. It was so much fun - we were playing music loudly; singing dancing, we were drinking champagne and taking photos. We met 2 other au pairs in the limo who live like, 20 minutes away from Ridgefield... Crazy!!! I was so happy and having so much fun and just kept thinking to myself - I am celebrating my 23rd birthday IN NEW YORK CITY, IN A LIMO with my friends!! Birthday's don't get much more memorable and special than this!!

After our limo ride things went downhill... We were meant to get into the club immediately and for free but we ended up waiting OVER an hour and we had to pay $20 to get in. The club played good music but it was SO packed and SO expensive - one single spirit and mixer was $20... I decided to buy ONE drink and my ONE drink got spiked so then I ended up going back to the apartment with Selma and Erika and not remembering anything and being sick all night. The worst!!!!!

Even though the club experience was (very) bad, and expensive and I got incredibly ill (which lasted 3 days), I LOVED the limo ride with my friends and I loved seeing all my friends and having a great catch up. I will hold fond memories of all that and maybe I will just try and block out everything that happened after from my memory!
