Today I really have had the best day!!!
Me and Jessy went to Ridgefield Main Street as there was a re-enactment of 'The Battle Of Ridgefield'. We found a space along Main Street to stand and watch and it ended up being one of the best spots. The re-enactment was brilliant! There were people in full costumes, they had real weapons, there were the generals on horses - there was so much effort put into it and it really paid off it was so good and enjoyable. Right in front of us was the first barricade and the Americans began firing at the Englishmen and the guns had real gunpowder in so they smoked and made a bang. Then the Englishmen kept advancing and broke down the barricade which was right in front of us. They set it on fire! The Englishmen had mini hand cannons that they were firing. The battle continued up the whole of main street and people were following behind and cheering and booing. It really was so much fun! Not to mention that the weather was perfect too. The sun was shining and it was really hot.
Afterwards me and Jessy went to Baileys for lunch. Neither of us have ever been but the food was delicious. I had a steak wrap with an onion dipping sauce and a side salad.
Then we decided to go to the beach. Luisa came too and we went to Pear Tree Point Beach and it is in Darien which is only like 30 minutes away. The beach was really small and not the nicest beach ever but it was somewhere nice to relax and enjoy the sun. We all just had fun and relaxed and chatted.
After a few hours we then decided we would go for dinner. I took them to 'Mecha' in Norwalk which is a Asian restaurant which does delicious food. They had never been and Erika also joined us which was lovely. We all really enjoyed our meals and decided we still didn't want this day to end so we decided to go to Peachwave in Ridgefield. There we also met Martha and Vero. It was such a great atmosphere. We sat outside and there were children playing and everyone was just so happy.
This made me imagine what beautiful summer's days are going to be like. I can't wait!!!
