It was really, really magical and beautiful

Day 2 and 3 of our vacation was spent at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and just wow!

I seriously don’t know where to start!

On day 1 we took a ferry over to the island and all you can see is Cinderella’s huge, amazing castle before you get on the ferry and it already looks magical ! When we first got over we walk down Main Street and the castle is right in front of you, it looks incredible. There was a show going on down Main Street and people were singing and dancing and it was the perfect way to enter the park and it was so magical and happy! Then as we walked closer to the castle we saw that there was another show happening right outside the castle. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Elsa, Ana, Rapunzel, Olaf and more were all singing and dancing and the show lasted about 15 minutes and at the end there were fireworks! Then they opened up the castle and you could walk through and inside there were mosaic pictures of the Cinderella story and paintings, it was lovely!

We then walked around to find our first ride. The first ride we went on was the Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride which we could all go on, even Beverly. We also did a Buzz Lightyear ride which was an interactive laser ride which was fun, ‘it’s a small world’ which was a nice calm boat ride which was nice, l o n g and had lots to see and we also did Mickey’s 4D show which was great too. We then all got ice cream as it was another very hot and sunny day and the kids enjoyed it so much – Beverly ate so much ice-cream!

Then we went to meet Rapunzel from Tangled and Tiana from Princess and the Frog. After this Gwen and Keith took Cameron to go on some of the bigger rides that the girls couldn’t go on, Beverly fell asleep so Jackie pushed her around and so I took Avery onto some of the smaller rides. We went on the carousel, the teacups and Aladdin’s magic carpet ride. She loved them all and she loved some special time just for her. We also got given some badges and Avery had one that said ‘My First Visit to Disneyland’ and she was so proud to be wearing it and kept looking at it, it was adorable!

Then we were just walking around and then there was a parade so we stayed to watch that. There were floats with beautiful decorations and flowers for each Disney film; Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and more!!! And all the characters were on the floats. Music was playing and they were dancing and waving… It was really amazing!

Afterwards we all met up again and we went on the Winnie the Pooh ride and The Little Mermaid ride (which was such a great ride!). We were then ready to leave and go home for the day and then we stumbled upon another parade so we stayed to watch that. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy were on floats and there were acrobats, dancers and lots of music. The kids enjoyed it and we were dancing around and having a great time!

Day 2 at Magic Kingdom, began with more rides and more sunshine. We went on the Haunted Mansion ride to begin with – Keith and Gwen went on with Avery, Jackie went on with Cameron and I went on with Beverly. Beverly actually really enjoyed the motion of the ride and the darkness of it. Luckily she wasn't scared as it was a fairly long ride! Then we went on the Jungle River Cruise which was a boat ride with lots of fake animals all around, made out to be like a safari, and the woman who was our ‘guide’ was so funny!

Afterwards me and Beverly and Jackie went on a little walk and we found this duck that looked like it had 1 leg, so we felt sorry for it so we began to feed it and then its other leg just popped out from its body and then we were like, oh… But me and Jackie found it hilarious, we thought it was an amputee duck so we were so shocked when the other leg just popped out!! But Beverly loved it and was saying ‘quack quack’ and laughing so much.

We did the Dumbo ride, the Peter Pan ride (which is recorded with my GoPro, only to find out that I had the camera backwards the whole time so I was recording my hand the whole time…) and The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The line for the Mine Train was 2 hours but me, Gwen, Keith, Cameron and Avery lined up for it and went on. It was a really good ride and I was sat next to this mom who was terrified and she screamed SO LOUD the whole time (and I recorded the whole thing with my GoPro!) it was hilarious.

We also met loads of character around the park; the fairy godmother, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and the ugly stepsisters from Cinderella. The stepsisters were great at acting and played the parts perfectly! Their facial expressions were spot on and so comical.

We then got in line to meet CINERELLA and Princess Elena. Cinderella was amazing. She spoke to calmly and nicely and she looked beautiful. We all took photos with her. Cameron asked her why the step sisters were mean and ripped her dress and she said ‘it was an accident and we are friends now’ hahaha! This was one of my favourite moments to meet Cinderella as she is my favourite princess and it is my favourite Disney film so it was so great!!

In the evening there is always a big fireworks show so we got a spot to watch the fireworks in front of the castle. I can’t write in words how amazing the fireworks were. The actual fireworks were the best I have ever seen. They were big, colourful and some of them were so unique, I had never seen anything like them before. There were star fireworks which made the perfect outline of a star and love heart ones that similarly made a perfect outline of a heart… it was really amazing! There was music and audio speech from Disney films over the fireworks and it was truly beautiful and so emotional! It was all about wishes and wishes coming true and then the audio sounds were different Disney characters wishing for various things – Ariel wishes she could be part of the human world, Pinocchio wishes he is a real boy, Aladdin wishes for the Genie to be free… it’s amazing how emotional it was! At one point Tinkerbelle flew (zip-lined) down from the top of the castle and it looked like she was flying!

It was really, really magical and beautiful.

It was the perfect ending to our 2 days at Magic Kingdom.
