Day 4 of our vacation was spent at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We started the day by walking around and we saw the monkeys – Beverly’s favourite animal. Me and Beverly were watching the monkeys climbing about and swinging for about 20 minutes. She didn’t take her eyes off them and she was properly laughing every time they jumped or climbed. She really loved it and when I said to her ‘where’s your monkey? Is that your monkey?’ (Which is what I say to her at home when she has her cuddly toy monkey) she was laughing so much. It was adorable.
Then we went on the rapids ride. Gwen, Avery and myself all got completely soaked. Literally soaked all the way through, it seriously looked as if we had jumped into a pool fully clothed... hair and everything. It was fun!! Then we did the safari which was a real safari – we saw elephants, giraffes, hippo, rhino, cheetah, alligators and lots of other smaller animals.
Next we did this thing called ‘The Gorilla Walk’ and saw lots of different monkeys in their enclosures and a BIG hippo too and we saw it opening its mouth which was cool! The gorillas and apes were so fascinating to watch! We had a quick look in a gift shop and I bought a hand carved marble elephant. Proceeds went towards Elephant Conservation, my favourite animal.
Then we took a train to another area of the park which had a petting zoo and a conservation information area. We saw some more characters; Baloo from The Jungle Book, Doc McStuffins and Rafiki from The Lion King – The kids were pretty scared of all of them! Then it was time for us to go and see The Lion King show we booked for. It was around 30 minutes long and Beverly was the one who loved it the most! It was really good! Timone and Pumba were the main characters and it was similar to a circus. People who were dressed up as monkeys were doing acrobatics and there was lots of dancing and music.
Then we went to Dinosaur Land and we went on a ride which was a brilliant ride! You were in a car going through the land of the dinosaurs and the fake dinosaurs looked awesome and moved very life-like too! The motion of the ride was great. It made it seem like you were driving really fast and on a bumpy terrain. It seemed so real. It really was a fantastic ride!
It was then time for dinner and we had booked a reservation at a Jungle Restaurant which was a buffet and also had characters coming around to meet you whilst you are eating dinner. The food was really yummy and Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy all came to our table. Both the kids loved Mickey Mouse. Cameron was very happy to see all the characters - he was super, super excited. He was jumping up and down and couldn’t stop smiling, it was so lovely. Avery liked seeing Daisy Duck but was terrified of Goofy and Donald Duck and was crying when they came around. Beverly didn’t like any of them and was pretty scared. It was really nice to have the characters come round and it was a perfect end to the holiday at Disney. We then headed back to the car and discovered that the car had a flat battery. The Disney car park attendants were so helpful and had us up and running again in less than 5 minutes.
What an AMAZING holiday we had at Disneyland.
Cameron, Avery and Beverly were SO well behaved and all had a great time.
It was such an amazing place and I feel so, so grateful and lucky to have been invited to go with Gwen, Keith, Jackie, Cameron, Avery and Beverly.
I really had the most amazing, fun and memorable time.
I don’t think I will ever, ever forget this.
