This weekend was very fun although very tiring!
We started Saturday morning very early. Awake at 4am and out the house and on the road at 5am! We were travelling to New Hampshire! We arrived at Sunapee mountain in New Hampshire around 9am and met up with Keith's mom and dad. It was SO cold, SO much colder than I had expected! It was -12c at the bottom of the mountain! Cameron had a ski lesson and then Keith, his dad and Cameron all went skiing for the afternoon. Myself, Gwen, Avery and Beverly went to McDonalds and chowed down on a burger and then went to TJMAXX to do some shopping...out of the cold!!!
That evening we stayed at Keith's cousins house, they are known to the kids as Uncle Carl and Auntie Peg. They are SUCH lovely people. SO kind and SO welcoming! They have a lake house and it is a beautiful house and also a beautiful location! If you look out the window you can see the lake. In the summer everyone swims in the lake and jumps in but today, as it was so cold, the whole lake had frozen over. There were people ice skating on the lake as well as people ice fishing! We all had dinner and socialised and relaxed for the rest of the evening and then we all went to bed. I went straight to sleep! It had been a long day and an early start!
On Sunday we woke up and had a lovely breakfast of homemade blueberry pancakes! The blueberries are home grown by Carl and Peg! Before we left we all went to the lake and walked on it as it was completely frozen! It was so strange but so cool at the same time!! Then we started our journey as we were all going to a Dinosaur live exhibition (as the kids LOVE dinosaurs!) in Boston. We spent a couple of hours there. They had lots of kids activities to do and also mechanic dinosaurs that moved and made sounds and looked really good! The kids really liked it although at one point there was a man dressed up as a dinosaur and Cameron and Avery were so scared - they started screaming and crying!
Afterwards we went for an early dinner and then we travelled back home. We got home around 8pm but I was tired so I went straight upstairs to bed!
Lots of places to scratch off my USA scratch map after this weekend as we travelled to New Hampshire and Boston and also drove through Vermont!
